This piece is title "Mis Herues"/"My Heroes" which is a portrait of Mexican Revolutionary Heroes Emiliano Zapata and Panch Villa (real name Doroteo Arambula). 2 color roughly 18by18 inches. CUSTOM GOLD AND CUSTOM MIXED DARK BROWN
I first made the image about two years ago and made a 24x24 fine art piece on collaged canvas. Since now I have the eauipptment to make prints i have been printing like a fiend. First I printed the Bear of the Dead print with my boy Phil and then I decided to print this image. Instead of printing up film or cutting ruby liths to burn the screens I decided to paint the image on acetate with black ONE SHOT enamel and burning the screen in the sun on my driveway. This is the 2nd print run Ive done so far so I ran into some major trial and error problems. First off i guess my mesh count was to thin to screen the metallic gold rigth. So when I began to print the first 3 the gold background was not perfect and I though about calling it quits because it didnt look as crisp as most of my images. But then I gave it a second look and I dug it because it had this Antique imperfection GRIME VIBE to it. I also want to mention that I warmed up the bright white paper with creme paint using my airbrush. So all in all non of these ar perfect to printer standards but the process was awsome cause I learned a bunch of "what not to do's" and I also had my posse of friends hanging out and helping (peace to Juan, Abe, Omar). Turns out the prints look dope even though there are alot of imperfections and there is not one alike another. I also hand decaled each edge which took FOREVER. So there it is the play by play.
