Casey Burns was born in Hendersonville, NC, in 1975. An accomplished illustrator, Burns' silkscreened rock posters are in collections across the globe, and his work has been featured in the books The Art of Modern Rock, by Paul Grushkin and Dennis King (Chronicle Books, 2004); Panda Meat, edited by Frank Kozik (Last Gasp, 2005); Poison Control: Young and Restless (Poison Control, 2004), Simple Screenprinting, by Annie Stromquist (Lark Books, 2004), and Fistful of Rock, edited by Sal Canzonieri (Dark Horse Books, forthcoming). Burns first gained public notice with the work he did as the in-house poster artst for North Carolina venue Cat's Cradle, where he worked from 1996 to 2006.  He has also done freelance comic book work for DC Comics, Marvel Comics, and Devil's Due Publishing; and t-shirt designs for the likes of Led Zeppelin, KISS, John Lennon (estate), Tift Merritt, and the Sex Pistols. Burns played bass and toured the US and Canada extensively in THE NEIN (alongside bandmates Finn Cohen and Robert Biggers of the White Octave, and  Dale Flattum of Steel Pole Bath Tub and Milk Cult), until he moved from Chapel Hill, North Carolina, to a fresh new spot in Portland, Oregon, in February of 2006. A nice feature about this cross-country move ran in the Durham Herald-Sun, and can be read here.  Final recordings with THE NEIN were released on a new CD EP titled "Transitionalisms" on Sonic Unyon Recordings September 19, 2006.
