From 1994-2004, there was an old bowling alley in Chicago that independently booked punk shows. Many bands that you probably have heard of played here many years ago. And even more bands that you (and I) never heard of also played here.
I spent many nights as a teenager (and as an adult) lined up with my friends to get into a show at the Fireside; and on some occasions, gracing the small, wooden stage with my old band.
In 2004, the owner shifted focus back to bowling, and the all ages shows that made this place legendary had ceased. Thousands of stories line the walls of the building, despites its infinitely less interesting present.

This print was drawn, sepped, and printed entirely by hand. It's 17x23", an edition of 35, signed & numbered.
