commemorative reprint of original Residents artwork from 1978 image measures 16 x 25" This was a limited print of 30 numbered and signed copies only. #s 1 - 5 for artist and his friends, #s 6 - 10 were sent to The Residents and #s 25 - 30 offered up on ebay."IGNORANCE OF YOUR CULTURE IS NOT CONSIDERED COOL" In 1978 The Residents produced a flyer to be put in their current releases. It was a small black and white xeroxed paper with The Residents in their KKK costumes, The Residents' logo from the Fingerprince record and the phrase "IGNORANCE OF YOUR CULTURE IS NOT CONSIDERED COOL!"
The artist liked this flyer very much and he hung on his wall. Over time it yellowed with age, so he decided to create his own replacement.
This is not an OFFICIAL PRODUCT from Ralph America or The Residents, this is fan art.
hand-printed 3-color silk-screen using a beige tone for the background, dark brown for the heads and typography to match the colors from the FINGERPRINCE era. The third color, white, was just used for the eyes. When hung to the wall in dim light the eyes seem to glow a bit, to great effect. see original version.
