Ruel Pascual was born in the Philippines and lived there until he was 13. Ruel has been drawing since he was a small boy, and was influenced by robots, monsters, toys, and games. Ruel’s paintings hark back to nostalgic moments we all experience at different points in our lives.

With the tragic typhoon that hit his homeland, he was distraught by the amount of devastation his people are enduring. Ruel decided to help by selling some of his art work, with the proceeds benefitting the Philippines Red Cross.

His painting "Puzzled" was a natural choice to release as a limited edition print with Hero Complex Gallery. "Puzzled" was originally inspired by his childhood love of the Rubik's Cube. Like the cube, the city of Tacloban is in total disarray and mismatched. The hope of putting it back together again represents the humanity and the compassion for others we all share. The primary colors on the Rubik's Cube also represent the flag of the Philippines. Let us help Ruel in this great cause. Rebuild!
