This piece marks the second in my poster series individually depicting each of the core band members inspired by the illustration work of Russian illustrator Ivan Bilibin. Bob Crawford, spring and the symbols of the Niagara region in NY are the focus here. The figure’s pose echoes that of Rockwell’s Liberty Girl, carrying cases referencing his role as the band’s bassist and violinist as well as audio gear, books and scrolls (as Bob has a podcast called The Road To Now). Bright green and blue hues dominate the composition, suggesting the crisp freshness of the season. The borders contain flora, fauna and instrument motifs with the top and bottom featuring Niagara Falls (which is a ten minute drive from Lewiston). The Freedom Crossing Monument is featured in the background as our local landmark of choice as it ties into Bob’s status as a history buff.
