"I wanted to share my original poster design for the St. Louis Dead & Co. show from last night. What many people don't realize, is that illustrators are sometimes at the complete mercy of the art directors or even the band themselves. I don't have an ego in my work so I am always happy to create what the client wants. The fans have a lot to say about what they see but they also don't know what goes into the work or the process.
In this case, I really loved the original work I did because it really epitomized the style that I love to work in. The band said it was too busy but "busy" is a big part of the Danvillage brand. I'm also happy with how the eventual poster turned out but I don't think many people understand the process or how little the artist has a say in the final decisions that are made." -Daniel Sulzberg
